A good interlock job starts underground. Before a single paver goes down, the base has to be right — excavated to the correct depth, filled with compacted granular material in layers, and finished with a properly screeded bedding layer. Skip any of that, and your driveway or patio will shift, sink, and heave within a couple of Ontario winters. We do not skip any of it.

We install interlocking stone driveways, walkways, patios, and pool decks across the Greater Toronto Area. Whether you want a classic herringbone driveway, a natural flagstone patio, or a modern large-format paver walkway, we handle the design, excavation, base work, and installation from start to finish. Every joint is filled with polymeric sand to lock pavers in place and prevent weeds.

Ontario freeze-thaw cycles are brutal on hardscaping. The ground freezes, expands, thaws, and settles — over and over, every winter. Interlocking pavers handle this better than almost any other surface because each paver moves independently instead of cracking like a monolithic slab. But only if the base is built right. That is our focus on every single project.

We also repair and re-level existing interlock. If sections of your driveway or walkway have sunk, shifted, or developed uneven spots, we can lift the pavers, fix the base, and re-lay them. Often this costs a fraction of a full replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Interlock driveway costs in Ontario typically range from $20 to $35 per square foot installed, depending on the paver style, pattern complexity, and site conditions. A standard two-car driveway might run between $12,000 and $25,000. We provide a detailed quote after a site visit.
A properly installed interlock surface with the right base can last 25 to 30 years or more. The key is the base — adequate excavation depth, properly compacted granular layers, and correct bedding sand. Without that foundation, pavers shift, sink, and heave within a few years. Ontario freeze-thaw cycles punish poor installations.
Polymeric sand is a special jointing sand that hardens when activated with water. It locks pavers in place, prevents weed growth between joints, and resists ant infiltration and washout. Regular sand does none of these things. We use polymeric sand on every interlock project.
Yes. Sunken or uneven interlock can usually be repaired by lifting the affected pavers, re-compacting and re-leveling the base, and re-laying the stones. This is significantly cheaper than a full replacement and restores the surface to its original condition.
Interlocking pavers are individual units that flex independently, making them resistant to cracking from frost heave — a major advantage in Ontario. If a section needs repair, you replace individual pavers instead of re-doing the whole surface. Stamped concrete is a single slab that can crack over time, especially in our climate, and repairs are more visible and costly.
